Why Contact Lenses?

Based on your lifestyle, personal choice, or health issues, you may want to wear corrective contact lenses. Before we can determine if your eyes are a good fit for contact lenses, we will need to perform a comprehensive eye exam. An eye exam can help us determine how much vision correction you will need and if you are currently having any health issues that are affecting your eyes, such as dry eyes, allergies, and other illnesses that can affect if you are a good candidate for contacts.

Types of Contact Lenses We Carry

We offer a variety of contact lenses, such as extended wear, daily disposables, scleral lenses, toric, and other contacts for hard to fit eyes such as keratoconus, astigmatism, and others. We also have cosmetic lenses for those who want to change the colors of their eyes. Below are more details about some of the types of contact lenses we have available at our office in Buena Park.

Soft contacts are for those with little to no health eye issues. These come in extended wear or daily wear, based on your needs and preferences. They are made with hydrogels, plastic made of gel and water, very comfortable to use for patients with no eye issues.

Even if you do have health issues with your eyes, we carry several types of contacts for hard to fit eyes. Scleral lenses, which are very similar to gas permeable lenses, are rigid lenses, similar to the original plastic lenses made in the 1970s.

What To Expect During a Contact Lens Fitting

After your eye exam, we can determine what type of contacts will work best for your eyes. You will be fitted with contact lenses while at our office to make sure your eyes are comfortable with the lenses and so that we can go over contact lens care with you. If you purchase daily disposable lenses, you can throw these away daily. Regular reusable lenses can be used for up to six months. You will get a cleaning solution and case with your contacts.
